This Dalgona Matcha recipe is a great way to get your cup-fill of antioxidants in a fun, novetly-drink kind of way! The best part is that you can tweak the recipe to cater to your nutritional needs - from vegan, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, etc!
Another good thing to keep in mind is using good quality items for the external ingredients as well. Making these little conscious decisions in the little things will go a long way and in return, will gift you a high quality consumption, even if it’s dessert with a little bit of sugar ;) . High quality matcha aligned with high quality ingredients outputs a high quality YOU! ✨
| Step 1 | - Add 1/2 cup of water in a small pot over low heat
| Step 2 | - Add 1/2 cup of sugar into the water.
This is perhaps the mindful moment where you can ask yourself, "What kinda of sugar intake do I choose to make today?"
| Step 3 | - Mix the sugar in the water until it fully dissolves.
| Step 4 | - Crack 2 egg whites in a mixing bowl.
| Step 5 | - Whip the egg whites.
If you are going toward the vegan route, some substitutions we've seen to replace the egg whites include cold coconut milk (left in fridge overnight) or the juice/liquid from canned garbanzo beans. The creativity is limitless!
We tried two different whisking methods during separate attempts. Hand-whisking with a whisk or fork took about 15 min of straight whipping, while using an electric whisk brought the process down to 5 min. But both will achieve the same results, one just requires just a tad more patience.
| Step 6 | - Add the dissolved sugar into the egg whites.
We utilized only 1/2 ~ 3/4 of the liquid so the egg whites don't appear too runny.
| Step 7 | - Add 2 tbsp of Chafinity's Matcha Gokoro as you continue to whip.
| Step 8 | - Whip for a while longer so mixture can further stiffen.
Adding the liquid will cause the whipped egg whites to become more loose. Push through with your whisking just a while longer to get that ultimate airy effect. You're almost there!
| Step 9 | - Pour over ice, and your choice of milk into a cup
Let your personal flare shine here! Use your choice of dairy or non-dairy from oat-milk, soy milk, coconut milk, etc.
| Step 10 | - Scoop dollops of the whipped matcha mixture over the iced milk.
