Founder Story

Chafinity was founded by husband-and-wife team Kentaro and Jennifer Chiba.

Their journey began with a simple realization: in a fast-moving world, moments of pause, care, and genuine connection are more meaningful than ever.

Inspired by the spirit of chanoyu — the Japanese way of tea, they set out to share tea not simply as a beverage, but as an experience of presence, hospitality, and harmony.

Their path eventually led them to Kagoshima, Japan, where they met Sakamoto-san, a regenerative tea farmer whose deep respect for the land, the seasons, and generations of tea craftsmanship left a lasting impression. His philosophy of cultivating tea in harmony with nature helped shape the foundation of Chafinity and continues to guide the relationships we build with tea farmers today.

Chafinity was born from these connections — honoring the farmer, the artisan, the soil, and the quiet beauty found in a single bowl of tea.

Every bowl we prepare and every tea we share is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and experience tea as it has been enjoyed for generations.
