Our Farmers

At Chafinity, we work closely with farmers and producers who share our values — respect for the land, long-term stewardship, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

Our sourcing begins in Japan and grows through relationships, not scale.

Sakamoto-san|Kagoshima, Japan

Sakamoto-san is our foundational farming partner, based in Kagoshima — a region shaped by volcanic soil and deep agricultural tradition.

His approach to tea farming is regenerative and deeply intentional. Rather than relying on conventional inputs, he crafts his own mineral blends and fertilizers, working in close relationship with the land to support long-term soil vitality.

He harvests tea only once a year — a deliberate choice that prioritizes plant health, depth of flavor, and balance over yield. His focus is Gyokuro, one of Japan’s most demanding and refined tea styles, requiring patience, precision, and an intimate understanding of shade, season, and timing.

This philosophy — restraint over excess, care over scale — reflects the standard by which Chafinity chooses all its partners.
